Traditionally it's "dress like you were going to Manray on Wednesday night," so minimum all black but fancier getups don't have to be all black. However, it's in theme to do whatever you want, and also I think half your wardrobe qualifies on the grounds that you can get into a goth club dressed in pretty much anything in fashion before the bouncer was born. :)
