laptop dead

My laptop died. Because I am me, I have a spare laptop, however it doesn't have all of my config and the keyboard is terrible and I had been in the middle of editing my tasklist, literally, when it crashed. So I won't be reading LJ or DW or doing anything that isn't on my colo machine for the next while.

I last ran a backup on Monday. That's... pretty awesome, really. The only things I'll lose will be an REM album and my notes on the pokemon double battle team I was working on. Oh and my notes from class today. That one's actually annoying.

This eee keyboard is terrible, so that's really all I have to say here. I'd been having a really good couple of days, too! Hopefully that will continue, just with some technical inconveniences.

AIM lives on my colo machine, feel free to poke me there.

:( :( :( That really sucks. And, re: class notes, so class was actually useful yesterday? I thought about forcing myself to go but even though my fever was gone I still felt like crap and decided to take more time to rest instead. Anyway, hope you can get a better replacement laptop with a good keyboard.

ETA: Also, ttly off-topic, but I was reading on fandom_wank about My Little Pony, like, ttly flooding /co/ and /b/ on 4chan? Haha, WHOA! I hadn't realized it was so huge. :)

Buy a new hard drive along with your next laptop, plug it in, when it asks if you wanna use it for Time Machine you wanna say YESYESYES. Or if you really wanna splurge you could get a Time Capsule, that is so on my list of presents to myself.

edit to add why: because then you will never have to be lucky enough to manually back up two days before a catastrophic crash ever again.

That's why I don't have a laptop. They have the tendency to crash more often.
