WHAT

To paraphrase David Foster Wallace, "it is like I am on acid that has itself dropped acid."

I'm just gonna leave this link here. The Pokemon Center

No seriously. There is someone else out there who would laugh at my pokemon/Deleuze icons.

WHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAT.

...OK! So, you know what Pokemon is. :) Deleuze and Guattari were 60s-80s French philosophers. They wrote a number of books, including their two-volume set "Anti-Oedipus" and "A Thousand Plateaus" on "Capitalism and Schizophrenia," some of the essays from which I've written up notes on in my journal recently. You should not feel the need to go and read these.

The thing I linked to is a peer-reviewed journal article... about Pokemon interpreted through the lens of these texts, done up as a self-conscious playful hypertext thingamabob, before Web 2.0 when that sort of thing would not be exciting. It's hilarious because it's this crazy French philosophy about how God is a lobster and we should try to make ourselves into bodies without organs... juxtaposed with Pokemon, and using Pokemon as a way to explore capitalist structures and oppression. It's also awesome because of the interview with Bulbasaur (http://www.rhizomes.net/issue5/poke/bulbasaur.html). Keep in mind, this is a peer-reviewed paper that this author has on his CV still today. <3

That is written with letters of gold in the pages of the Book of Best Things Ever.
