raxIf you're not in the Bay Area this Friday, you can safely ignore this message. davidglasser and Langton Labs have generously offered to host a party for eredien and myself this Friday at 8 PM. You should come. I will be dressed as a goth catgirl: you should feel free to do the same though this will not be required in the same way it has been at some of my parties. If you want to pass this on to other cool Bay Area people, have them drop me a line, though we don't intend this to be an Oh My God Open Party, I don't think. You can see the (rushed, middling) invite that was sent out for email under the cut, if you care to.
ATTENTION CALIFORNIANS: We intend to colonize you.
In the year 19XX the first goth catgirl raver arrived on the Other Left
Coast in order to sow dischord, eyeliner, and pounding pounding techno
music. After (2008-19XX) years and a handful of exploratory missions,
the time has come to TAKE CALIFORNIA.
The state of California is known for its many exports, like avocados,
movies, unnecessarily large sunglasses, and the mythical "chill." Goth
catgirls desire all of these things greatly, and as the cost of gas rises,
trucking them to the Other Left Coast becomes increasingly expensive.
In addition to this, avocados are best fresh. Therefore, expect the rates
of malaise, glowsticks, and unnecessary pairs of ears to go up greatly
in the San Francisco Bay Area on or around the evening of August 15th.
WHAT YOU CAN DO TO HELP: Welcome your new catgirl overlords.
That evening, the first batch of chill will be collected from Langton Labs
at 9 Langton St in San Francisco (94103). Having perused the website of
these labs at langtonlabs.org, goth catgirls have decided that this is
the ideal location at which to mine for chill to send back to our home
planet, which is dark. Like our souls. We have not quite yet figured out
how to transfer chill across the stars, so the chill mined at this party
(and any stray beats we are able to corral into --- how is it you say ---
the eye - Pod?) will be carried along to Los Angeles and then shipped back
to the Other Left Coast with some crates of truly ginormous sunglasses.
Ideally, sunglasses with lenses _bigger than our heads._
THE MUSIC FROM ANOTHER ROOM: So how should you presume?
As this is a celebratory event, we will be celebrating. There will be
time to turn back, but do not --- we repeat, do not --- do so. To do so
would be unchill, revisionist, and free of peaches. If you want to truly
please your new catgirl overlords, we recommend dressing up as a goth
catgirl yourself, and helping mine for chill. Also, glowsticks.

the Avocado if not truly the Rainbow.
Fortunately, heavily-forested, frequently high-humidity frontiers foster
fridiculously long hair growth, which, braided, forms cat-ears of Ginormity (and cuteness).
This almost makes up for our lack of Eye-gear
but not quite.
