Hi Shatterstripes, I'm cshiley - renamed due to marriage. I reread this post recently. When I reached my comment from 2009-08-18 12:34 pm, I winced. I wanted to reach back in time and smack myself. That was cissexist and jerktastic and all-around uncool.
I contributed to the othering you were complaining about, even while I was attempting to agree that trans women are women. Trans people are people, not theoretical constructs or walking educational resources.
