Anyone want to go see Matthew Sweet?

He's playing an in-store show at Amoeba in LA on Aug 26th, and I am so down for that. I am also about to buy tickets to his show at the Paradise on Oct 27 in Boston. They are $20, presumably with extra fees attached due to the Suckage Of Ticketmaster. If you want me to order some for you, let me know. I hear really good things about the new album. I'm going to buy tickets for me now just in case, because I've gotten burned on waiting for Matthew tickets before. But I will order tickets for other people if you are lazy. :) With fees it looks like $27 a piece, eyugh, I hate Ticketmaster but I do not have time to go to the box office before I leave for CA.

Matthew Sweet is one of the roughly two things I fangirl over. Ohmygod *swoon* (eredien, I bought you a ticket. Getting up at the front of the stage and screaming at Matthew Sweet is a non-optional part of our relationship. It's in the fine print after the bit about fruit/animal hybrids. <3 )

Matthew Sweet has me excited enough to use a MOOD ICON.

I got a promo and listened to it once so far, and I like it!

The sound is a return to Girlfriend/Altered Beast form, I would say.

Though I haven't listened closely yet to the lyrics, and stupid lyrics have been the downfall of many bands lately, e.g. Weezer... But so far so good!

Sadly can't make it to any of the shows. :( Hopefully he schedules a San Francisco date sometime!
