Unfortunately the Monday time became unavailable while I was planning for it, so it looks like we're all headed over, at least all of us who can make it, on Wednesday. I will hopefully get there a little before 7; I'll be coming from UMass Boston, so I might bike or might take the T depending on how I feel that day. I think Wednesday still works for most people, which is good, but if it doesn't work for people I can try to get something open some other day in another week or two (I know this doesn't work for N, I should send mail). No need to RSVP, but I am curious who all is showing up, so if you want to let me know you'll be there, cool.
Also, graduate school started, and I am still in that phase where I think I can start getting ahead of the game and do the first two or three weeks worth of homework this week. I'm taking Literature of the End of the World and LIterary Editing and Publishing (whose final project is printing a book, like actually, for reals). I'm reading The Gutenberg Galaxy by Marshall McLuhan and aside from some troubling Orientalism he is totally rocking my world. The troubling stuff is troubling, though, dealing with the core of the book while also dealing with weird declarative statements about ethnic groups is weird... Oddly, both of my classes have me wanting to re-watch King Lear before Wednesday; is there a good film version? (Or a performance in Boston this weekend? :) ) Also also I need to watch The Seventh Seal for my Literature of the End of the World class in the next couple of weeks; anyone interested in a showing?

Date: 2008-09-05 06:48 pm (UTC)We also need to do the stuff involving History - I am thinking that it could work very neatly if you toss me the funds next week, then I con you into using your van to haul the pieces home late on the 19th and put your framed piece in the back once we unload here...
