I think putting time and energy into a hobby you enjoy and find rewarding is a fine thing to do. Bonus points for pokemon judging also being enabling other people's fun and being a responsible adult role model. I was tickled pink by your recent mention of the parents of one of the young'uns you'd worked with sending you a photo when their kid won a tournament prize. :)
If you find it starts eating into your time to do other things that you value, like hanging out with your sweeties, I think you have the good sense to notice (or at least listen if they bug you about it) and recalibrate.
