We've got 50 copies of Place/Time printed and bound, and 51 more to go. If sitting with needle, thread, and gaff tape next to a giant printer and a paper-folding machine sounds like your idea of a good time, we could use a couple pairs of hands on Tuesday night. Tasks we'll be rotating include babysitting the printer, folding signatures, cutting covers, drilling holes, threading books, and taping books. Hopefully I'll also have the website set up at that point such that we will go live and start selling books by the end of January. Exciting! Anyway, let me know. I'll start printing when I get home from work and by 7 we should have enough of a page backlog to really get cracking. Actually, maybe I'll even print off some signatures on Monday night after class if I don't fall asleep right away...

*bounce bounce* Books!

I'm possibly interested. I don't know how to do anything, but I can learn things.

I only know how to do these things because of this project. :) I'd be happy to teach you.

I'm interested! I like doing crafty projects with my hands but never make time for them, and I'm curious to know how a magazine is made. Just let me know when I should come over.

Cool! Come on by around 7 PM. I guess that wasn't entirely clear in the original post. :)

Wait until you see [livejournal.com profile] postrodent's astonishing technical advances! Don't let the name fool you --- that's one tool-using mammal. :)

Aww. If I weren't very far away, I'd be there. I've never yet gotten to bind books, and I want to.

The title made me think this was some General Semantics thing, rather than arts and crafts night.

I should be able to make it.

Sounds like fun -- would love to learn some bookbinding -- but think that's while I'm at work. :-/

Alas, I am busy. But I will contribute by purchasing a copy when they are up for sale.
