Travel Preparations
Jul. 30th, 2008 08:02 pmThis is very announcement-y because I am supposed to be doing, you know,
my _job._ I am going to be on West Coast USA this August, doing West
Coast type things. A week in Seattle (Aug 4-11), then SF, then maybe
Santa Cruz, then LA-area. It will be great.
If you want letters/postcards/what have you, email me your physical
address, even if you already think I have it, especially if you are
sure I must have it but actually I just dropped that one letter in
your mailbox that one time. I have this awesome fox stationery, and
I want to get into the habit of letter-writing again, including with
all you west-coast people I owe things to.
If you know people in those areas who are awesome and I should meet,
feel free to give them my contact information or point them here or
have them email me or whatever it is that people do to get in touch
these days. I expect to be ramped into pretty high extrovert mode
most of the time I am not working on my novel.
If you live in or near those areas I will probably be sending you email
personally but if you want to jumpstart the process and grab me by the
throat and say "You! Hanging out! Here! This time!" that's a supported
operation. Also the second half of the trip, when I'll be traveling
alone, I will be couchsurfing haphazardly. If you want me to ride your
cushioned waves... that sounds really, really bad. But yeah.
Any recommendations for small headphones? Living out of a bike bag and
carrying around my giant Sennheisers seems dumb. Since I already have
my giant Sennheisers, I'd prefer not to spend a lot of money. Something
I can Amazon before I leave is ideal, but I could also hit a store if
that's the right thing to do.
Anyone want to let me borrow a bike, or know somewhere that I can rent
one? I'm especially interested in one in SF from Aug16-20 or so but
really anytime I have a bike I will be Even More Happy Than Otherwise
Rachel. Ideally I'd want a 56cm fixie with 70ish gear-inches but I can
ride pretty much anything :) Which reminds me, I need to take pictures
of the new bike...
Seriously though. I will ride your cushioned waves _all night long._
Back to work with me...
