I'll be in San Diego with a pack of friends from November 7th at 10 AM to November 10th at 10 PM. If you'd like to hang out with me and/or my pack of friends, drop me a line; I'm especially looking at
q10 and
skuldchan , but now that I think about it,
gotspit, you and your compatriots should totally join us as well, and I am sure I am forgetting someone else in that area who reads this. I'll bring Race for the Galaxy! :)
In Wow I Really Am A Damn Yuppie News, this trip is the fifth in a series of Veteran's Day Weekends where a bunch of old friends from college swarm upon some unsuspecting city and see its sights with the deadly clarity of our vision and process its liquor with the terrifying efficiency of our livers. (Trieste, trieste etait mon livre.) Previous locations include Las Vegas (Fur and Loathing in Las Vegas; if you've ever heard me talk about "the Fur and Loathing Trip," this yearly gathering is it), Ann Arbor, New Orleans, and Miami. If anyone has any recommendations for exciting things to do or see in San Diego, or vegan restaurants, I'd love to hear about them. Or hotels! We haven't picked a hotel yet, because we are indecisive. In past years we've gotten a big suite in some hotel and all hung out in it and it's been awesome; I personally haven't found anything like that in a reasonable price range yet.
Travel! Clearly that's the thing to do with a real person salary and a lifestyle involving living in a shared apartment, baking our own bread, and biking everywhere. (Seriously, lots of bread. Homemade focaccia for breakfast recently. This pleases me greatly.) Aside from possibly visiting my family in Wisconsin for Thanksgiving (
iankeith are you going to be at home for Thanksgiving, actually?) or Cassandra's family the week before, I don't have any solid plans... places on my radar include New York City and, oddly enough, North Carolina.
OK this has been a fun diversion. Back to work and graduate school. I need to get ahead if I want to be able to take a weekend off from schoolwork...
