While some trans people say incredibly interesting things about gender essentialism, I think what you're saying here is that gender theorists say interesting things about gender essentialism using trans people as a rhetorical point. I don't think this is always bad, but it's something to keep in mind; often it's not a trans voice saying those things, and sometimes they're being said in a way many trans voices would disagree with strongly.
