I have this dream that I will start using this or some other space to do book reviews. I'm skeptical. That sounds like doing something. However, I do want to recommend some things that I think are very good:

* Nancy Bender Insurance (in theory, nancybenderins.com, but it never seems to be up) are the people who I used to get my car (yes, I have a car) registered and insured in Massachusetts. It was remarkably painless, they desketchified everything I had done wrong in previous states, and it was even cheap. (Though I expect it would have been the same cost somewhere else.) I worked with Karen, who was very helpful and friendly; they dealt with the RMV for me and all I had to do was show up once and give them forms and a check and show up a second time to pick up the plates. They're located on Milk Street, which is a little annoying if you're tied to the T, but I bet that, if you're registering your car, you aren't. (I biked in, and everyone in the building assumed I was a courier. I totally got waved through security. Sweet.) You can contact them at +1 617 367 4900. Nathan, thank you for the recommendation!

* Moleskine 5x8 (large) reporter-style squared (quint rule) notebooks: http://www.moleskine.com/eng/_interni/catalogo/Cat_int/catalogo_notebooks.htm They are so hot. Classy and practical --- and, despite the overtures in the name, vegan! They're a bit pricey (~$16 per booklet for large size, ~$10 for small) but if you write, draw, storyboard, travel, paint, &c. it's the only way to fly.

OK, I should go to work now. But hopefully this is useful to someone!

(Using LiveJournal's "put it on the internet and forget it, it will still be there whether you want it to or not" functionality is actually pretty useful. It's like free publishing that a small audience can trivially read.

I flirted with doing book reviews on my LJ, but it became like an assignment. I kept thinking "Oh, I should review the book I read last week before I review this better, more interesting book about which I have strong opinions, because if I'm going to review books, I have to review all books." The logic isn't right, but I seemed to feel that way about it :/

Thanks for the link to the Moleskine notebooks--they have one that would be perfect for comic strips.

I think that Carta's journals have better paper, tho' I don't think they're vegan.
