raxCassandra and I broke up yesterday.
We've both been unhappy with parts of our relationship for a long time. I was reaching the point of really needing more space (thus the initial plan for Cassandra to move out, although that was in flux for a while too); Cassandra feels she needs to be alone in order to heal from things that predate me, that she's been working on while we were together and my presence was in some ways a barrier. We both love each other very much and are incredibly sad about this. We're both currently in New England, and she's planning to stay for the time being, while I continue to live in Indiana and pursue my PhD.
I hate August.
