I'm reading Dosse's "A Thousand Plateaus: A Geophilosophy of Politics" in preparation for some serious reading of Deleuze and Guattari in the next eight days. I am not taking serious notes; I am just noting a few things to come to later. I'm hoping to have time to come back to this essay once I've read more D&G and be able to say something more intelligent about it then.
"travel without moving" is a Deleuzian concept? Micropolitics? It brings me back to the whole quantum thing with Barad and God's lobster claw (yes, God is a lobster, according to D&G) where the lobster's claw is the apparatus that, by pinching space-time, creates the single phenomenon of a point in two places. I think that Deleuze is an "immobile traveler" by virtue of things around him changing and moving. (Also, I cannot help but think of Jamirioquai.)
D&G were involved with the Palestinian cause in the 70s and 80s! Whoah, that's interesting, and may contextualize some of their stuff on the war machine. "War machines control all forms of violence by opposing the state" and I think this will make more sense when I've read more about the war machine --- talking about making many smaller war machines doesn't seem terribly productive right now.
"Keeping multiple resistant micropolitics from disappearing into the State's logic." That I can get behind...
Guattari is very interested in the answer to the question "How can we talk about the production of subjectivity today?" I think that's a good question. We'll see if I find that the essays help me answer it.
