I hear the reason you are supposed to not do homework in bed is that it means you are doing intense mental effort in a place that is supposed to be for anti-intense complete lack of mental effort, and so it sets up the wrong associations.
The secret is to do everything everywhere, so the associations are totally averaged and mixed up.
