I have basically stayed out of the fray on the US election, as it's
probably obvious from my vegan-biker-dykeness who I am voting for (Obama)
and why (his stated platform agrees with what I want in more places than
McCain's does, even though neither of them is really thrilling). Recent
events, however, have twisted my brain into a pretzel, and I have found
a convenient conspiracy theory to believe so that my mind can get back
into a normal shape. The theory is this: Sarah Palin is actually an
elaborate legal fiction devised by Tina Fey, who is using the 2008
Presidential Election as her project for being jumped into OULIPO.
Neither "John McCain" nor "Sarah Palin" contains the letter e --- screw
Troopergate, I say we immediately demand the extradition of George Perec.
Barack Obama (no e!) was forced to choose JoE BidEn over Hillary Clinton
to show that he stands with the majority of Americans on issues of
tremendous importance, like preventing the take-over-the-world schemes
of absurdist French poets. There we go! Now I can sleep at night.

Obama: Tough on absurdist FrEnch poEts! ChangE AmErica nEEds.

Uh, dear? Maybe she's like me and thinks the Greens have done a lousy job of building itself a party structure, cringes at Carla Howell, and doesn't want to vote for a guy whose policies all involve Yogic Flyers? :)

I hate to say it, but there's nobody in this race I'd vote for gladly. There are probably folks I'd trust in the office, but they're all, yanno, teaching and writing and stuff. :p

Not to denigrate third parties in general. There have been people in the past I could get enthusiastic about. And I don't dislike Obama myself, though I know he's not gonna advance us significantly towards the world we both want.

Guess I'm voting straight Meadow Party again. Ack-thbbptt.

"Yogic Flyers" is a much better defense policy than "preemptive war". Not least because it's almost infinitely cheaper. :)

Well, at least their candidate had a respectable freakin' education (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_Hagelin)...

Heh. ^_^ Can I say that "Global Country of World Peace" sounds like something poorly translated from an Asian language? I imagine the GCWP sending some earnest guy in a suit to try and talk Mothra out of eating Tokyo...

Actually, how much have you read about Bhutan? You of all people probably know *just* where I'm going with this one, but I'll spoil it and say... GNH?
